The Friends We Keep

There are TED Talks on Friendship! TED Talks! I don’t know if this surprises you, but it surprised me.

Happy Thursday by the way 🙂

I came across the Ted Talks as I was just researching what other people have said about this particular topic of how to choose your friends or, what to look for in our friendships etc. and lo and behold, TED Talks.

I’m just happy I’m not the only dumbass out there. You feel stupid when you go through some of this shit, and some of it’s straight up embarrassing but, you’re not alone. Keeping the wrong company is a thing that happens and it’s nothing to be embarrassed about. Being somebody who’s ever been lied to, used, made fun of, talked ill of, taken advantage of, back stabbed, taken for granted, manipulated, gaslighted, “clowned” (this list is endless, you get the idea), is nothing to be ashamed of or embarrassed about. You didn’t know what you didn’t know and that’s not your fault. I will tell you though, learning from your mistakes will hurt, but take comfort in the fact that knowing better will serve you well one day, and everyday for the rest of your life.

An aside, I find it extra special when people try and gas light me because my name is Paula and in the movie Gaslight, her name is Paula too. It’s like, could you be more on the nose about this shit.

So, the Ted Talks, I’ll post them below. PLEASE WATCH THEM. They’re quick videos and, if you have to leave, make it a point to come back and watch them. They are very interesting takes on friendship by some brilliant women. In the order they’re listed, Sharon Livingston, Kristen Newton and Shasta Nelson

Thank you as always for stopping by, I hope to see you back Monday for the More To Add Post for this discussion. Take care and as always and have a blessed day 🙂

Xoxo
